Two Independent MNAs, Seven MPAs To Join PTI Today: Sources

Islamabad (July 28, 2018): At least two independent Members of National Assembly (MNA) and seven Members of Provincial Assembly (MPA) joined Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday.

According to the sources, the MNAs Shabeer Qureshi, who defeated Ghulam Mustafa Khar in NA-181, while Basit Sultan Bukhari, who beat Moazzam Jataoi in NA-185 will announce their inclusion after meeting PTI chairman Imran Khan today, while Independent MNA Saleh Muhammad has already meet PTI Chief Imran Khan in Islamabad yesterday and announced to join his party.

Saleh Muhammad was elected as an independent from NA-13 Mansehra.

Independent MPA Khurram Sohail Leghari from PP-275, Alamdar Qureshi from PP-277 and Basit Sultan Bukhari from PP-272 and NA-185 will also join PTI.Sources have also informed Abb Takk that Jehangir Khan Tareen have sent four MPAs from Multan to Lahore through special flight, while another PTI stalwart, Shah Mehmood Qureshi has started contacting independents.

On the other hand, in order to form federal government, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Jahangir Khan Tareen is due to visit Karachi today to get support from MQM-Pakistan.

Citing unnamed sources, the PTI leader would hold a meeting with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement the leadership at their headquarter in Bahadurabad.

During the meeting, he would invite the MQM to join coalition government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the sources said.

The PTI has emerged leading party in the parliament falling short of forming a government.The PTI leaders have been tasked with contacting the independents and political parties to achieve the required numbers in the lower house of the parliament.

Senior PTI leader Jahangar Tareen is very busy these days to help his party to form government in center and Punjab and made telephonic contact with MQM-P Convenor Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui to join their incoming government.

Dr Siddiqui confirmed that his party was invited by Tareen to join PTI but said the decision would be taken by the Rabitta Committee.

Earlier on Friday evening, Jahangir Khan Tareen along with Aleem Khan arrived in Faisalabad to contact the independent candidates.

PTI has expedited its efforts to form the government in Punjab too. During the visit, they met with elected candidates of PP-97, PP-106 and NA-101 and offered them to join PTI, said sources.

Earlier, a meeting of the PTI leadership was held at Bani Gala with party chairman Imran Khan in chair during which, the party leadership assured Imran Khan of having complete numbers to form government in center.

As per the update from ECP, it has received results of 230 seats of National assembly and 500 seats of provincial assemblies which is 86.8 percent of the total count.

The PTI has secured 118 seats in the National Assembly, while Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Awami Muslim League (AML), BNP and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) likely to support PTI after which it would get support of more than 140 members.PTI Announces To Form Govt in Center, KP, PunjabAccording to the data shared by the election commission of Pakistan, PML-N has taken 63 seats in NA, PPP 43, independents candidates 14, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal 11, MQM 6, Pakistan Muslim League-Q 5 and two each by Balochistan National Party and the Grand Democratic Alliance.

On Wednesday, millions of Pakistanis voted to elect a new government and prime minister in a peaceful election held in free, fair and transparent manner.

Around 800,000 police and military forces were stationed at more than 85,000 polling stations across the country as the voting took place.Wednesday’s election was only the second democratic transition of power in Pakistan s 70-year coup-studded history.

Pakistan is a country of approximately 207 million people, out of which the number of registered voters are about 106 million. The voting for the Pakistan election, which took place between 8:00 am local time (8:30 am IST) and 6:00 pm (6:30 pm IST), saw more than 3,000 candidates contesting for 272 general seats of the National Assembly, while some 8,000 candidates ran for 577 general seats of the four provincial assemblies – Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
