Zardari, Shehbaz Expresses Solidarity With Workers On World Labour Day

ISLAMABAD: Former President Asif Ali Zardari and opposition leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif expressed their solidarity with the working class on the occasion of ‘World Labour Day’ in separate messages here on Wednesday.

In a statement former President and co-chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Ali Zardari has said that selected premier is free to take revenge from us but I request him from keeping his hands away from oppressing labourers and working class.

Zardari also accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) led federal government of allegedly embezzling an amount of Rs28 billion which should have been used for the welfare of labourers.

On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his solidarity with the working class.

‘All opposition parties should write a draft for improving the economy,” said Shehbaz.

Shehbaz also demanded from the government to set the minimum wage at Rs20,000.

It is pertinent to mention here that the ‘World Labour Day’ is being observed in Pakistan and across the globe today.
