RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has praised the people of Balochistan for their unwavering support and cooperation with security agencies, emphasizing that strong collaboration between civilians and law enforcement is essential for achieving durable peace and stability in the region.
According to an ISPR statement, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir addressed delegates at the 20th National Workshop on Balochistan held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
During his speech, the Field Marshal highlighted that sustained efforts by security forces, combined with the steadfast backing of the local population, will help bring lasting peace to Balochistan. He reaffirmed that operations targeting the Khawarij factions and other terrorist groups will persist with full determination until the threat of terrorism and its supporters is eradicated from Pakistan. He also reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to dismantle terrorist networks wherever they operate, posing a danger to national security.
The COAS and CDF pointed out that foreign-backed proxies continue to attempt to incite violence, destabilize the region, and undermine peace efforts. However, they assured that these malicious intentions will be thwarted through decisive action by the armed forces, bolstered by the resilience and unity of the Pakistani people.
The Field Marshal described Balochistan as Pakistan’s pride, rich in natural resources and home to a resilient and patriotic population that forms the backbone of the province’s strength. He also highlighted ongoing development projects by federal and provincial authorities aimed at transforming Balochistan’s socio-economic landscape through inclusive and community-focused initiatives.
Additionally, the COAS commended the constructive role played by civil society, academia, media, and youth in fostering national unity and supporting the province’s long-term peace and prosperity. He underscored the importance of national cohesion and perseverance in shaping Pakistan’s future trajectory.
The session concluded with an open and comprehensive dialogue, during which participants reaffirmed their collective commitment to Pakistan’s stability, progress, and sovereignty. Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed that, with sustained public support, security forces remain dedicated to eliminating terrorism and restoring peace in Balochistan.
He emphasized that operations against Khawarij and similar groups will continue relentlessly, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to combat terrorism and its facilitators.
