GO Donates Rs 12 Million To Dam Fund

Web Desk (July 12, 2018): Gas and Oil Pakistan (GO) has donated Rs 12 million towards the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams. 

To tackle the worst-ever water crisis, Gas and Oil Pakistan (GO) has donated Rs 12 million towards the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams, in which organization has donated Rs10 million, plus 3 days salary of its employees, accumulating to a total of Rs12 million.During a hearing last week, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar observed that water resources were crucial for survival and directed the authorities to take immediate and effective measures to build Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams.

Furthermore, the apex court had appealed to the general public, including Pakistanis residing abroad, to donate for the cause. GO believes it is their national duty to rise up to the occasion and decided to provide a helping hand in this great initiative taken by the chief justice.

Yesterday, the Bank of Punjab to contribute Rs 10 million for the fund for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams.

Executives and officers of The Bank of Punjab have decided to contribute Rs10 million for the fund for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams, being constructed to follow the orders of Chief Justice of Pakistan.In a statement issued here, they said that the nation had a track record of generously contributing towards welfare projects and this fundraising movement should also get the desired momentum to help generate required funds at a very fast pace.

They said that it is high time to work as a nation and overcome this menace of water scarcity through a national resolve to leave behind a better and prosperous country for our future generations.
