Gohar and Asif exchange smiles in Parliament

ISLAMABAD: In the corridors of Parliament, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali met with Defense Minister Khawaja Asif. The atmosphere was surprisingly light-hearted as the two leaders exchanged smiles and firm handshakes, suggesting a willingness to engage in constructive dialogue despite their political differences.

In a spontaneous and friendly encounter in the Parliament corridor, Barrister Gohar and Khawaja Asif shared greetings and engaged in a light-hearted exchange. Speaking to reporters afterward, they underscored the importance of fostering national unity in the fight against terrorism.

When journalists asked both leaders why such cordiality was limited to meetings and why they could not unite for the country’s welfare, Khawaja Asif responded, “There should be unity, no doubt about it. In the past, Parliament and parliamentarians followed certain traditions.”

With a smile, the Defense Minister added, “Are you suggesting that we should not even meet in the corridors?”

Chairman PTI, also smiling, responded to the journalists, saying, “Are you saying we shouldn’t even exchange greetings in the corridor?” On the occasion, Barrister Gohar reiterated, “We have already stated that there should be consensus against terrorism—not just on terrorism, but on every important issue.”
