ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the government to launch a Ramadan relief package, bypassing utility stores to combat corruption and ensure the sale of quality products, in a bid to ease the financial burden on citizens during the holy month.
While addressing to a Federal Cabinet meeting yesterday, PM Shehbaz Sharif underscored the importance of establishing a transparent and efficient relief mechanism for Ramadan. He highlighted that last year’s relief package received numerous complaints.
Due to the mismanagement observed at Utility Stores, and stressed the need for improvements to ensure that assistance reaches those in need effectively this year by announcing corruption free Ramadan package, PM Shehbaz Sharif
“I mentioned several months back that the existing Utility Stores system is not sustainable. During the last Ramadan, we received numerous complaints about the Utility Stores, which is why we’ve opted to roll out a new package that does not include them,” said PM Shehbaz Sharif
