Govt Took Tough Decisions To Steer Country Out of Economic Crisis: Hafeez

KARACHI: Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh on Thursday said the incumbent government is taking several measures to improve the economic condition of the country.

Addressing a press conference, Hafeez Sheikh said country’s economy would be improved after implementation of the IMF program.

The Advisor said through IMF agreement Pakistan will get six billion dollars on low-interest rate, adding that Pakistan would also get two to three billion dollars from the World Bank and Asian Development Bank.

The Finance Advisor informed that the government would allocate around 800 billion rupees for the development programs in the next budget.

Meanwhile, Hafeez Sheikh also met business community at governor house in Karachi. Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Syed Shabbar Zaidi and Governor Sindh Imran Ismail were also present on the occasion.

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said that the incumbent government has formed the Sindh Industrial Liaison Committee to address the problems of the trade community.
