Karachi: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday heard the case against Senator Nihal Hashmi pertaining to threats to Panama JIT members and judiciary in a speech in May this year.
During the course of hearing, Hashmi’s counsel Advocate Khalid Mumtaz submitted an application seeking exemption for his client from personal appearance.

The judge after hearing arguments of the lawyer, approved the plea for exemption.
Hashmi is on bail in the case granted by the same court.
The court adjourned further hearing till September 7, 2017.
Hashmi has been booked for spreading terror by extending threats to members of the judiciary and other public servants probing or related to the investigation of the Panama Leaks case filed against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.
