Heavy downpour has lashed the city causing life disruption and halted traffic mess various parts of the city while three people lost their lives in rain related incidents.
Heavy rain hit most of the parts which disrupted the life as rain water accumulated on the roads and long queues of vehicles seen on the roads and people trapped the traffic for many hours. Roof of a house caved in at Super Highway, Haji Goth, which caused the death of a boy, 14, and injured three other family members while a person was electrocuted in Alflah Society and in another incident a woman was lost her life when roof of a house collapsed.
Rain has exposed the all claims of K-Electric as the first drop of water fell the power outage witnessed in various pars of the city . K-Electric said more than 100 feeders have been tripped in different parts of the city however the work for their repair being in process.
Windstorm and followed by rain uprooted the makeshift arrangements in Asia’s biggest Cattle market, Movaishi Mandi, while flight operation at Jinahh terminal has also been effected.
Met office said 54 ml if rain was recorded at airport, 21 ml at university road. 26 in Landhi, North Karachi 12ml and 5 ml in Gulshan-e-Hadeed.
