ISLAMABAD: Federal Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed optimism regarding Hungary’s continued support for Pakistan on the GSP Plus program during a joint press conference with his Hungarian counterpart. This visit marks their second trip to Pakistan.
At the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar highlighted the significance of mutual partnerships in key areas such as defense, science, culture, and other sectors, reiterating that Hungary is a steadfast ally of Pakistan.
The two leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation while addressing both regional and global issues.
Dar noted the increasing collaboration between the two countries and mentioned that the third session has paved the way for exploring Hungary’s expertise in agriculture and water management.
During the event, two memoranda of understanding and one agreement were signed, solidifying the commitment to joint initiatives. Dar also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Palestine and expressed shared concerns about the escalating issue of terrorism in Afghanistan.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality received during his visit and emphasized the desire for deeper relations with Pakistan.
He pointed out that several agreements spanning various sectors have been established, highlighting the alignment of both nations on global political issues. The collaboration is expected to yield benefits from each other’s cultural and archaeological experiences.
Additionally, the Foreign Minister raised concerns about the threat posed by terrorism emanating from Afghan territory and indicated that discussions regarding illegal residents were a significant topic of their talks.
This renewed commitment to strengthening ties is poised to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Hungary, particularly in addressing shared challenges and exploring opportunities for growth.
