ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday approved the former premier’s plea to get immunity from making an appearance before the court in Al-Azizia reference case and adjourned the case’s hearing till April 23.
A two-member bench of the IHC which include Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kyani heard on the former premier’s plea seeking to challenge the Accountability Court’s verdict in Al-Azizia reference case.
The court after a short hearing accepted the plea of the former premier seeking immunity from making an appearance before the court and adjourned the case’s hearing till April 23.
Earlier today, the former premier had submitted an application seeking immunity from making an appearance before the court due to his illness.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo was sentenced to seven years in prison by an accountability court in Al-Azizia reference case.
