Web Desk: The Ministry of Home Affairs India has declared the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) faction of Jamaat-e-Islami ‘unlawful association’ for a period of five years.
“The JI has the potential to ‘disrupt the unity and integrity of the country. The party was in close touch with militant outfits and supports extremism and militancy in IoK,” reads a notification.
It is the third ban to be imposed on the organization, which wants Kashmir to be independent from India.
