JI announces protest against K-electric on May 11 over worst load shedding in Karachi

Karachi: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi has announced city-wide protest on May 11 over the worst load shedding conducted by the K-electric whereas the party also decided to file petition against the toughest power outages in the city.

The JI Karachi interim chief Munam Zafar Khan held a people presser at the K-electric Gizri office over the worst loadshedding and possible hike in electricity prices.

The JI chief said that Karachi is the economic hub of the country adding 12 to 14 hours load shedding is being conducted on the start of summer season.

Munam Zafar Khan said that people of Karachi after paying the electricity bills are compelled to face wrath of power outages.

He said that the K-electric received unfair billions of rupees on charges of various taxes from people of Karachi.

He said that we will file petition against the unbearable power outages while the party will stage protest demonstration on the town levels on May 11, Saturday.

The JI Karachi chief also warned that if the K-electric not corrected its direction then we have option of sit-in outside the K-electric head office and on Governor House Karachi.
