PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly is preparing to elect a new Chief Minister following the resignation of Ali Amin Gandapur. The Assembly Secretariat has released an updated schedule, confirming that the election process will conclude within the next two days.
As per the notification, candidates interested in contesting the position must submit their nomination papers by 3 PM on Sunday, October 12. The documents will undergo immediate scrutiny, and the final list of approved candidates will be made public by 5 PM the same day.
The vote to choose the next Chief Minister is scheduled for Monday, October 13, at 10 AM. Members of the provincial assembly will cast their votes through a show of hands during a specially convened session.
The Assembly session originally planned for October 20 has now been moved up to October 13, with the sole agenda of electing the new Leader of the House.
With the date fast approaching, all eyes are on the provincial legislature as it prepares to decide who will lead the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government moving forward.
