LAHORE: Lahore Blues clinched the National T20 Cup title, defeating Peshawar Region by 9 wickets in the final.
In the match played in Faisalabad, Peshawar Region batted first and managed to score 110 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted overs. Captain Iftikhar Ahmed scored 34 runs off 33 balls with the help of two boundaries, while Mohammad Zulqifal contributed 32 runs, including four fours and one six.
For Lahore Blues, Salman Mirza took 4 wickets for 21 runs, and Mohammad Irfan claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, Lahore Blues chased down the target in 16 overs, losing just one wicket. Umar Siddique played a match-winning knock of 64 runs off 46 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes, while Junaid Ali remained unbeaten on 30 runs, including three boundaries.
This victory marks Lahore’s fifth title win.
Peshawar’s Sahibzada Farhan was named the tournament’s best player, having scored 605 runs in 7 innings at a strike rate of 189, including 3 centuries and 2 half-centuries.
