ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has enforced a strict ban on photography and videography within airport operational areas, including aprons and aircraft maintenance zones. This directive applies to all airlines and aviation companies operating in the country.
The decision came after an image of a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft was leaked, prompting the PAA to act. According to the notice, only authorized aircraft engineers and maintenance personnel will be permitted to capture photos or videos of aircraft, and only when deemed absolutely necessary for maintenance purposes.
The PAA also warned that disciplinary actions would be taken against airline employees, including ground handling staff, found in violation of this rule. This precautionary measure aims to safeguard airport security and prevent unauthorized photography or videography in sensitive operational areas.
