Lahore: Punjab Assembly echoes with slogans against Modi

LAHORE: Government and Opposition members of Punjab Assembly appeared to be at same platform over Kashmir dispute matter, while women standing at stairs of Assembly chanted slogans against Narendra Modi.

Punjab Assembly session started with an hour delay, while the session was chaired by Speaker Assembly Rana Mohammed Iqbal Khan. Addressing the session, member of Punjab Assembly Waseem Akhtar said that that liquor worth 93 billion rupees was sold in only two hotels during a year, while he demanded to ban on liquor sale.

Besides, government and opposition Assembly members with mutual consensus expressed solidarity with Kashmiri people and chanted slogans against Indian government.

On the other hand, responding to point of order, Punjab law minister said that legal action will be taken under Cybercrime Act against those who will be found spreading hatred or harassing citizens on social media. Meanwhil, Opposition Leader Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, while condemning, said that there was no talk regarding Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi statement related to Kashmir and Baluchistan in Federal Cabinet meeting.
