Islamabad (August 15, 2017): Prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is presiding over the maiden cabinet meeting of his tenure.
According to the details, meeting of the federal cabinet is discussing the security situation in the country and underway development projects.
The cabinet will also discuss law and order and economic situation of the country, besides other agenda items.
Sources said that Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal will brief the cabinet on overall law and order situation of the country.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar is expected to brief the cabinet on the economic situation of the country.
According to the sources, the prime minister will approve ad hoc relief for the prime minister and federal and state ministers.
Sources said the prime minister will also announce a 10 per cent increase in the basic salaries of the chairman and deputy chairman of the Senate, parliamentary secretaries and MNAs.
Moreover, the prime minister will also be briefed on the issuance of arms licences.
