LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered the formation of Special Road Maintenance Squads at the district level to ensure better upkeep of roads across the province.
Presiding over a video-link meeting, the chief minister instructed commissioners and deputy commissioners to personally oversee ongoing development schemes and ensure that projects are executed strictly according to approved designs, specifications, materials and technical standards.
She also called for modern and attractive designs for city entry points, along with improved landscaping to enhance the appearance of urban areas.
The chief minister further directed authorities to develop food streets equipped with adequate parking facilities, sanitation services and proper traffic management arrangements.
