Matriculation examinations in Karachi to kick off Tomorrow

Karachi: The Secondary Education Board Karachi has officially announced the dates for the ninth and tenth-grade examinations, confirming that the exams will commence on April 8.

It was revealed that approximately 375,000 students will be appearing for the exams across 499 examination centers established throughout the city, as per a statement released by the board.

A detailed list of these centers has been published on the board’s official website, ensuring transparency and easy access for students and their families.

The chairman of the board emphasized the modernization of the examination process, stating that computerized online admit cards have been issued to all students. This move aims to streamline the admission process and minimize any potential issues on exam day.

Furthermore, in an effort to ensure a fair examination environment, the board has enforced a strict ban on the use of mobile phones and other electronic devices in the examination centers.

The chairman reiterated that students found in possession of such items will face disciplinary actions.

However, the date for practical examinations will be announced later.

It may be noted that the matric exam schedule was revised from an earlier date in March.

The Sindh government updated the schedule in view of the holy month of Ramadan, which fell during the month.

Meanwhile, the new academic session was set to start in the province from today (April 7), as per the official announcement.

The authorities stated that the new academic year for colleges will begin on August 1, 2025.

Winter and summer vacation schedules will remain as per the previous timetable. Summer vacations are set for June 1 to July 31, while winter holidays will be observed from December 22 to December 31.
