WEB DESK: The first major change for WhatsApp in 2025 has been revealed, an AI tab has been added in the beta version of WhatsApp for android devices.
The report mentions that the AI tab will feature various tools, such as one that includes popular AI characters. Users will be able to chat with different AI bots on multiple topics. Additionally, AI-generated stickers, images, and Meta’s AI search engine will also be available in this section. Although AI stickers and images are already available, this new update will consolidate everything in one place. In fact, the purpose of this redesign is to make AI tools more prominent to encourage their usage.
The new change will impact the Communities tab, as it will be removed and incorporated into the Chats tab. The report also notes that Meta is working on custom AI bots for WhatsApp. These bots will be an improved version of Instagram’s AI Studio.
It is still unclear how many people will want to create their custom AI bots, as most users might be satisfied chatting with the available bots or prefer conversing with real people.
Since this new change has been introduced in the beta version, it is difficult to say when it will be available to all users.
