KARACHI: Muthahida Quami Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) has tabled a resolution at Sindh Assembly against the founder of Muthahida Quami Movement. The resolution presented by Sardar Ahmad condemned the speech and media attacks on August 22.
At the start of the session chaired by Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and Pakistan Muslim Legue (Functional) had presented a resolution condemning the anti-Pakistan speeches of MQM founder and attacks on media houses. The resolution demanded action against MQM founder under Article 6 of the constitution.
MQM legislator Rauf Siddiqui expressed sorrow that anti-Pakistan statements were made by someone who he adorned the most. August 22, 2016 was one of the five worst nights that I have lived, I could not tolerate those speaking against Islam and Pakistan for the creation of which hundreds of thousands of people sacrificed their lives and hundreds of thousands are ready to sacrifice their lives to save it.
In his emotionally charged speech another MQM legislator Faisal Sabzwari called making the decision for alienation from founder MQM an extremely difficult decision. Only we know how which we have been cursed over it in the social media, being called a traitor, instead of rubbing salt ointment must be poured on our wounds, he added.
The Mohajirs were neither traitors yesterday nor they are today or will ever be in future, he added. Has anyone tried to found it why Mohajirs are reeling from sense of deprivation, he asked.
