Lahore (November 13, 2017): The defeated candidate of NA-120 and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Yasmeen Rashid has challenged the jurisdiction of tribunal judge, who was hearing PTI’s poll rigging petition in NA-120, however judge asked for more arguments in this connection.
PTI had filed plea against the unidentified 29000 votes and Lahore High Court sought list of mentioned voters list, however ECP had provided incomplete list on which PTI protested and demanded complete list. It has also alleged that the votes of dead were also cast during the by-poll.
The PTI counsel Anees Hashmi told the court that as per election act 2017 a session judge has not the powers to hear the election related complaints as the high court judge can hear the case.
The judge of election tribunal Shahid Rafique asked him to submit further arguments in this regard and adjourned the hearing for November 20.
It is pertinent to mention here that the election Commission of Pakistan has issued the notification of Begum Kalsoom Nawaz success in NA-120 by -poll, which was held on September 17 and Kalsoom Nawaz defeated his rival candidate Yasmeen Rashid with more than 14000 lead.
