NA paased resolution condemning Indian illegal action after Pahalgam incident

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a resolution condemning India’s unilateral and illegal actions in the wake of the Pahalgam incident in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

As per detail, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry tabled the resolution during the assembly session.

The house set aside its regular agenda immediately to discuss the matter.

The resolution strongly denounced all forms of terrorism and expressed grave concern over India’s conduct following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

The resolution strongly criticized India’s unlawful measures and heavy-handed actions in the aftermath of the attack, particularly in the illegally occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Lawmakers affirmed that Pakistan rejects Indian attempts to exploit the incident to justify unlawful measures in the region.

The house also condemned what it termed as India’s “hydro-aggression” and reaffirmed its resolve to counter any potential military or water-related hostilities.

Furthermore, the resolution called for India to be held accountable for its alleged involvement in terrorist activities and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to highlighting Indian offenses on global forums.

It reaffirmed Pakistan’s categorical rejection of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, while also denouncing India’s attempts to link Pakistan with the Pahalgam attack without evidence.

It condemned New Delhi’s unilateral steps, including its attempts to alter the demography and political status of the region, which are in clear violation of international laws and United Nations resolutions.

Moreover, the National Assembly denounced what it termed as India’s “water aggression”—a reference to the reported violations of water-sharing agreements.

The resolution warned that such provocations threaten regional peace and stability and cannot be tolerated.

The House reiterated its firm commitment to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It declared that any military or hydrological aggression from India would be met with a resolute and united response from the Pakistani nation.

The resolution also demanded that India be held accountable for its involvement in sponsoring terrorist activities within the region. It urged the international community to take notice of India’s destabilizing role and to press for impartial investigations into the Pahalgam attack.

The resolution concluded by reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people and its consistent call for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute under the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and relevant UN resolutions
