NAB seeks records of KP development projects, sources say

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has requested records related to development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including work carried out during Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s tenure, according to sources.

The bureau has asked the provincial Communication and Works Department for details of road construction and contract awards. Notices seeking information have also reportedly been sent to the Revenue Department, the DHA registrar, the Peshawar Development Authority and other relevant offices.

Sources said NAB had also summoned records relating to former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur and former ministers Fazal Hakeem and Dr Amjad. They added that the bureau would review asset information before deciding whether to issue notices to the three politicians.

NAB sources said the inquiry may also examine alleged irregular recruitment and corruption involving officials during PTI’s time in power. The claims have not been independently verified.
