KARACHI: Fayyaz Ahmed, an official with the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) and son of prominent journalist Sohail Sangi, has gone missing, according to his family. They reported that contact with Fayyaz has been lost since he left his workplace on Monday evening.
Fayyaz reportedly left his office around 6 pm, but since then, there has been no communication. His phone remains switched off, fueling concerns about his safety and whereabouts.
The family has officially lodged a complaint with senior police authorities, including the Sindh Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). A formal written petition has also been filed to initiate recovery efforts.
The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has also expressed serious concern over the disappearance. In a statement, HRCP urged the Sindh government to accelerate investigation and recovery efforts. The organization emphasized the urgency of tracing Fayyaz and ensuring his safe return, highlighting his status as the son of HRCP Council member Sohail Sangi and a dedicated Nadra officer.
This incident has sparked widespread concern, prompting calls for swift action to locate Fayyaz and address the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
