MUZAFFARABAD: In a rally held in Muzaffarabad, senior PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif revealed his aspirations to serve as the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. Addressing enthusiastic supporters, Nawaz Sharif declared that if his party secures victory in the upcoming elections, he would instruct Shahbaz Sharif to appoint him to lead the region.
Describing Azad Kashmir as his second home, Nawaz emphasized the deep emotional and political connection he shares with the area, asserting that it holds the same importance as Punjab. He called for equitable development across all regions, asserting that no area should be left behind in the pursuit of progress—be it Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, or any other province.
He vowed that a victorious PML-N government would prioritize resolving longstanding regional issues, ensuring comprehensive development and prosperity. Nawaz promised that if the people of Azad Kashmir support his party, he would personally visit the region every three months to address their concerns and oversee ongoing projects.
Highlighting the remarkable progress in Punjab under Shahbaz Sharif’s leadership, Nawaz asserted that similar efforts should be extended to Muzaffarabad and other parts of Azad Kashmir. He pledged that a PML-N-led government would launch major infrastructure projects, including motorways and other development initiatives, to accelerate regional growth.
Reflecting on his tenure as Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif recalled doubling the Azad Kashmir budget, vowing to increase it tenfold if his party wins power again. “When I promise something, I deliver,” he affirmed confidently.
He also lauded Shahbaz Sharif’s efforts in Punjab, with Maryam Sharif completing many key projects. As a gesture of progress, Nawaz announced that the Punjab government would soon gift ten state-of-the-art Green Buses to Muzaffarabad, describing them as electric, air-conditioned, and environmentally friendly—an initiative aimed at improving public transport in the region.
Nawaz Sharif’s rally underscored his commitment to regional development and his personal ambition to serve Azad Kashmir, promising a future of prosperity and progress if given the mandate by the people.
