NEW YORK: Demanding the U.S. for priority access to its market Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that this would further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Addressing an event organized here by Pak-American Business Council the prime minister also asked the American Chamber of Commerce to convince its government to accord priority access to U.S. market.
We have taken concrete measures for economic progress and peace after taking over the helms of power and significant improvement of economic indicators due to effective economic reforms that we carried out are enough to vouch this, he said. In the process we also have managed to slash the budget deficit, he added.
The U.S. is an important economic and trade partner of Pakistan and this partnership is extremely crucial for our private sector, America must give Pakistan priority access to its market so as to further expand bilateral trade and economic and investment sectors, prime minister stressed.
The event was attended by a large number of American and Pakistani entrepreneurs and businessmen. Pakistan’s permanent envoy to the United Nations Dr Maliha Lodhi, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chadhary and many high rankings officials were also present.
