Mount Maunganui: Pakistan faced a white wash against New Zealand in One-Day-International (ODI) three-match series as the Kiwi’s clinched victory in the third ODI by 43 runs.
Pakistan had won the toss and elected to field first but could not get benefit of wet ground as the Kiwi’s scored handsome total of 264 runs losing eight wickets in allotted 42 overs.
The host team batting lined up played well as two of its players skipper Michael Bracewell and Rhys Mariu made half centuries.
Skipper Michael Bracewell remained top scorer with 59 runs. While Rhys Mariu scored 58 runs.
On the other hand, Henry Nicholls hit 31 runs ,Daryl Mitchell scored 43 runs.
Akif Javed remained the most successful bowler taking four wickets whereas Naseem Shah took two wickets.
Faheem Ashraf and Sufiyan Muqeem got one wicket each.
Although Pakistani openers Abdullah Shafique and Baber Azam gave good start and the guest lost its first wicket on 73 runs whereas Kiwi’s lost its first wicket at 13 runs.
Later Pakistan batting line up collapsed and it started losing wickets in quick successions.
Baber Azam scored a half century though but lost his wicket just after it scoring 50 runs.
Captain Muhammad Rizwan and Tayyib Tahir showed little resistance with albeit scoring 37 runs and later 33 runs.
New Zealand Ben Sears got the highest five wickets of the match and became player of the series.
Jacob Duffy took two, whereas the host team captain Michael Bracewell, Muhammad Abbas and Daryl Mitchell got one wicket each.
After winning the third match of the series the host clinched series 3-0.
