ISLAMABAD: Federal government has decided not to extend the deadline for Afghan nationals to leave the country, which is set for March 31.
According to details, a meeting of the Ministry of Interior concluded with a firm decision to enforce the March 31 deadline for Afghan nationals strictly. Instructions have already been issued to remove illegally residing Afghan nationals from Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
On the other hand, Amnesty International has called for the withdrawal of the plan for the expulsion of unlawfully residing foreigners.
Amnesty International stated that Pakistan’s deadline of March 31 will further exacerbate the difficulties faced by Afghan citizens. According to Amnesty International, Pakistan has deported 844,499 Afghan nationals between 2023 and 2025.
