PESHAWAR: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has emphasized that there will be no operations permitted in the province under any circumstances.
In a recent statement, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur voiced strong opposition to any military operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, asserting, “We will not allow an operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under any circumstances. As many terrorists as we eliminate, more keep coming from Afghanistan.”
Gandapur estimated that between 9,500 and 11,500 militants have already infiltrated the region, with an additional 22,500 positioned across the border. He expressed confidence that, “If the people stand with us and our intentions are clear, we will be able to deal with them.”
Criticizing the recent National Security Committee (NSC) meeting, the Chief Minister described it as more of a presentation rather than a substantive forum. He remarked that if resolving terrorism could be achieved merely through reports and statements, it would have already been eradicated.
Additionally, Gandapur emphasized that the NSC discussions did not address the status of PTI founder Imran Khan. He insisted that the path forward requires Khan’s release, underscoring the need for a united front to address the challenges ahead.
