ISLAMABAD: Over 53% of Federal Cabinet Decisions Made Through Circulation Summaries in a Year.

Details reveal that the federal government has increasingly relied on circulation summaries for important decisions, with over 53% of cabinet decisions made in this manner in the past year.

Sources from the Cabinet Division reported that in the last financial year, the federal cabinet approved 666 summaries, while ministries and divisions submitted a total of 1,244 summaries.

In the financial year 2023-24, a total of 40 regular meetings of the cabinet were held, prioritizing decisions through circulation summaries instead of discussions in meetings.

Compared to the previous financial year 2022-23, a decrease in decisions made through circulation summaries was noted, with 792 summaries approved via circulation in the earlier year, accompanied by 42 regular meetings.

In financial year 2022-23, ministries and divisions submitted a total of 1,116 summaries for the cabinet’s consideration.
