Pak squad busy preparing for Champions Trophy encore

Birmingham (May 30, 2017): After the whitewash of the second warm-up match against Australia the Pakistani team has once again gotten busy in preparations for Champions Trophy.

Pak team will practice in indoor here today due to unsuitable weather outside.

There was only 11  overs of play in the second warm-up match between Pakistan and Australia. Australia had scored 57 runs at the loss of one wicket.

In case there is no rain the team will try to better its performance in all three sectors of the game during training outdoor.

Fahim Ashraf, who helped push Pakistan to victory in the first warm-up match by adding 64 runs, that included four sixes and four fours, off 30 balls will be focus of attention. He is expected to be given the green cap on June 4 when Pakistan clash with India in its first Champions Trophy match. Fahim was given the opportunity to bowl with Muhammad Amir in the warm-up match against Australia for this very purpose.

Fast bowlers will bowl at green wickets placed on marble during the practice session. There will also be focus on fielding, catching in particular. Harris Suhail, who has  replaced Umer Akmal, will also take part in training.
