Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has said that Pakistan wanted peace in the region and beyond but we will not compromise on our security adding if the national sovereignty were attacked then befitting response would be given, the Pak-army media wing said.
According to Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief was talking to the participants of Balochistan in 15th National Workshop.
General Asim Munir said that terrorism knows no religion, sect, ethnicity while we will fight with national unity.
The COAS said that enmity elements wanted spreading fear, violence and destabilizing Balochistan while he expressed determination we will not let them succeed.
He said that those who commit terrorism on the name of Baloch identity are a blemish on Baloch honour and patriotism.
As per the ISPR, since 2016, the Workshop brings together a large number of male and female parliamentarians, bureaucrats, members of civil society, youth, academia and media representatives, with maximum representation from Balochistan.
The Workshop, encompassing interactions, seminars, group discussions and visits to different parts of the country.
It is aimed at enabling future leadership of Balochistan in understanding vital national / provincial issues and mounting cohesive response.
