Vice chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that his party has decided to play an active role in the appointment of Members of the Election Commission simply because Pakistan could not afford controversial election any more.
PTI has decided to propose names for the appointment of EC Members, Qureshi said adding that Members EC should be appointed with the consultations of all the parties because an independent election commission is a must for fair and transparent elections.
Controversial elections would be dangerous for democracy and Pakistan could not afford it any more.
PTI will give names of suitable Members EC to the parliamentary committee.
