ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, has confirmed that Pakistan and India have agreed to an immediate ceasefire.
Speaking to the media, Dar emphasized that war is not a solution to any issue. “At 4:30 PM, both Pakistan and India agreed to a ceasefire. We conveyed our readiness for peace, but made it clear that any act of aggression by India would be met with a firm response.”
He expressed gratitude to the international partners who played a role in facilitating the ceasefire, noting that intense diplomatic efforts had been underway throughout the day.
“Pakistan fully defended itself and responded to India in a measured and dignified manner,” Dar stated. “We have always pursued peace in the region, without ever compromising on our sovereignty or territorial integrity.”
