New York (September 21, 2017): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that Pakistan made nuclear weapons to deal with possible threat of Indian aggression.
India has evil designs and a constant threat for Pakistan, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said in his first interview to CNN. He said Pakistan-US relationship is 70 years old and there had been many ups and downs.
PM Abbasi said that Pakistan and US are partners in war against terrorism. He said Pakistan has rendered unmatched sacrifices in the war on terror. He said thousands of Pakistani soldiers still engaged in war on terror.
The prime minister said that Pakistan and US may have differences on Afghan issue and regional policy but their enemy is same. He said they were trying to work out together with Trump administration. Abbasi said that he had conveyed Pakistan’s stance to US President Donald Trump. No major change is expected in US policy on Pakistan, he added.
PM Abbasi ruled out any assistance from Islamabad to Pyongyang in its nuclear program. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will address the 72nd session of United Nations General Assembly in New York today.
