Pakistan successfully launches EO-3 electro-optical satellite into space

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has successfully launched its electro-optical satellite, EO-3, into space, marking a significant step forward in the country’s technological capabilities.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the satellite was launched from China’s Tianjin Satellite Launch Center. The statement described the locally developed EO-3 as another major milestone in Pakistan’s journey toward technological advancement and self-reliance.

ISPR noted that the EO-3 satellite will provide advanced imaging data to support urban planning and disaster management efforts. It will also contribute to food security and environmental monitoring by delivering high-quality Earth observation data.

The successful launch is expected to lay the foundation for an integrated Earth observation system, helping Pakistan meet key national priorities across multiple sectors and supporting sustainable socio-economic development.

The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) also announced the achievement, calling it a historic success.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister praised the dedication and expertise of SUPARCO’s engineers and scientists, while reaffirming appreciation for China’s continued cooperation in Pakistan’s space program.
