Dubai (October 6, 2017): The second Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Sri Lanka is leading the two-match Test series against Pakistan. The match will start by 3 pm today.
Pakistan will be playing to avoid a humiliating whitewash. They lost the Abu Dhabi Test match to the islanders by 21 runs. Sri Lanka became the first team to beat Pakistan at Abu Dhabi.
Pakistan may include Usman Salahuddin and Mohammad Asghar in the playing XI whereas Wahab Riaz could also be making his return to the side.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka is looking to become the first team to win a Test series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates, when the second and final match starts in Dubai today.
Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath, 39, was the catalyst for a 21-run victory in the first Test in Abu Dhabi on Monday, as he took 6-43 to foil Pakistan’s modest chase of 136.
The narrow win gives Sri Lanka a unique chance for a series win over Pakistan at their neutral venues of the UAE, where they have never lost a series in nine attempts.
They have won five and drawn four in the UAE since the 2009 terrorist attacks on the Sri Lankan team bus forced them to play home matches outside of Pakistan.
