Pakistan to start its Champions Trophy journey tomorrow against New Zealand in Karachi

Karachi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions trophy will kick off on February 19 (Wednesday) with the opening match in Karachi between Pakistan and New Zealand.

The opening mathc of the Champions trophy will be played after a small ceremony at the National Bank Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan have gotten confidence after defeating South Africa with high scoring chase of 353 runs in the tri-nation series.

However, New Zealand have an edge over Pakistan as it clinch easy victory against Pakistan chasing the total of 242 runs in final.

But, it is not a tri-nation series it is mega event of Champions trophy. Both exert their best performance in the all the fields of bating, bowling and fielding.

However, the most anticipated clash, as always, will be the high-stakes showdown between arch-rivals Pakistan and India, set to take place on February 23 in Dubai.

Lahore’s newly renovated venue will host one of the semifinal whereas the other will be held in Dubai.

The tournament’s final is also scheduled to take place at Gaddafi Stadium unless India reaches it, in which case it will be held in Dubai.
