With election-related violence on the rise during political campaigns in Pakistan, Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi assured on Saturday that the upcoming polls slated for February 8 will be peaceful.
during a press conference in the federal capital, Solangi said that the preparations related to elections have been completed and the authorities concerned have made a virtuous security plan.
Sharing update on the security measures, the information minister said the caretakers chalked out a comprehensive security plan involving Police, Rangers, and Pakistan Army.
The Information Minister said responsibilities for security have been alienated into three parts to maintain law and order during the elections. He further said caretaker government does not influence the courts, or institutions emphasising the country’s status as a free country where everyone has the right to criticise.
Solangi further assured that every available resource is being employed to ensure a fair and secure electoral process.
