PCB likely to remoave ODI skipper Azhar Ali

MANCHESTER: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to remove Azhar Ali as  captain of One-Day team  as he completely failed to boost the team.

Earlier, PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan had indicated that soon they will decide about the captaincy of the ODI team. He had clarified that Azhar will be part of the ODI even if he was removed as captain . Sources said that Sarfraz Ahmed is the strong contender to replace Azhar as captain of ODI squad.

It is pertinent to mention here that Azhar led Pakistani team in 25 ODI matches, out of which Pakistan faced defeat in 15 matches. Pakistan got success in only nine matches under his captaincy. The national team won four matches against Zimbabwe and Ireland. Is showed that under Azhar Pakistan could register only five triumphs against major teams.
