Peshawar Zalmi Defeat Multan Sultans by 7 Wickets

Multan: Peshawar Zalmi delivered a commanding performance to secure a comprehensive 7-wicket victory over Multan Sultans in the 25th match of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, played in Multan.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Multan Sultans’ innings faltered dramatically. Their batting lineup struggled to build partnerships and was eventually bowled out for a meager 108 runs in just 19.1 overs. Shai Hope (23) and Tayyab Tahir (22) were the only batsmen to show some resistance for the home side.

Peshawar Zalmi’s bowlers were clinical, with Ahmed Daniyal leading the charge with an impressive spell, claiming 3 wickets. He was well supported by Maaz Sadaqat and Luke Wood, who each picked up 2 wickets.

Chasing a modest target of 109, Peshawar Zalmi made light work of the chase, reaching the target comfortably in just 13 overs. Opening batsman Saim Ayub was the star of the innings, playing a crucial knock of 49 runs. Max Bryant also contributed significantly with 38 runs.

For Multan Sultans’ bowling attack, Shahid Aziz managed to pick up 2 wickets, while David Willey claimed one.

Following this defeat, Multan Sultans are now eliminated from contention for the PSL 10 trophy and sit at the bottom of the points table.

In the current PSL 10 standings, Quetta Gladiators lead the pack with 11 points from 8 matches. Islamabad United are in second place with 10 points from 8 matches, followed by Karachi Kings in third with 10 points from 5 wins in 8 matches. Lahore Qalandars are in fourth place with 9 points from 9 matches, while Peshawar Zalmi hold the fifth position with 8 points.
