ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres to discuss the evolving security situation in South Asia. This marked their second call in less than a week, underscoring the urgency of the regional developments.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister appreciated the Secretary-General’s continued engagement and diplomatic outreach, welcoming his consistent calls for de-escalation and the avoidance of any confrontation.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability, Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated his offer for an independent, transparent, neutral, and credible investigation into the recent incident. He expressed concern over India’s failure to provide any concrete evidence while continuing to engage in provocative rhetoric and warmongering.
The prime minister emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of any threats.
