Petroleum Prices in Pakistan expected to change from Feb 2026

ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan’s petroleum product prices are anticipated to undergo adjustments starting February 2026, based on information from reliable sources.

It is predicted that petrol may see a slight decrease, while other petroleum commodities are likely to experience price hikes. Specifically, the price of high-speed diesel could increase by as much as Rs9.47 per litre.

Sources indicated that petrol prices might be reduced by up to 36 paisa per litre beginning February 1, 2026. Conversely, kerosene oil is expected to rise by Rs3.69 per litre, and light diesel oil could see an increase of up to Rs6.95 per litre.

The initial calculations for the new prices have reportedly been completed. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) is scheduled to submit the pricing proposal to the Petroleum Division on January 31. Following approval from the prime minister, the Petroleum Division will announce the updated rates, which will remain effective until February 15.

In the previous review period, the federal government decided to keep petrol and diesel prices unchanged. A formal notification from the Petroleum Division confirmed that the current rates, announced two weeks prior, would continue for the upcoming fortnight.

Officials explained that this decision was made after a thorough review of petrol rates, domestic fuel market trends, and overall market conditions in Pakistan over the past two weeks. The Petroleum Division emphasized that fluctuations in petrol prices, supply, and demand factors were carefully analyzed before maintaining the existing fuel prices.
