ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the federal government was left with no choice but to impose emergency and governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to protect the province.
Addressing a meeting of the KP parliamentary party in Islamabad on Saturday, the prime minister said the government had invited the PTI to join efforts to combat terrorism, but the party failed to respond.
Questioning the utilisation of federal funds, Shehbaz asked how many safe cities had been established in KP despite the province receiving Rs800 billion from the Centre.
