Islamabad (February 22, 2018): An important meeting is underway at Election Commission of Pakistan to decide regarding the Senate tickets submitted by PML-N candidates with the assent of the former prime minister and PML-N president Nawaz Sharif.
It is pertinent to mention here, the PML-N President Nawaz Sharif is removed from party head after a verdict from the apex court in Election Reforms 2017 Act and the court had also nullified all his acts.
The election commission is mulling over four options including declaring PML-N candidates as independent, postpone Senate elections, give time to PML-N candidates to acquire new party ticket or seek the apex court advice in order to take any decision in this regard.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Thursday issued new Senate tickets to its nominees for the Senate elections, after the apex court on Wednesday removed Nawaz Sharif as the party head and nullified his all decisions.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the PML-N consultative body at Punjab House, Islamabad. Raja Zafarul Haq issued the tickets to the party nominees as the Chairman Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
He said that tickets would now be submitted in his name because as per the constitution, he is now entitled to issue the tickets to the party nominees.
According to sources, PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq, Minister for CAD Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Anusha Rehman left for the ECP office Islamabad to submit the new party certificates.
