KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari has tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently in isolation, according to his personal physician, Dr. Asim Hussain.
Dr. Asim announced on Wednesday that following various tests, it was confirmed that the President is battling the virus and has been placed in isolation on medical advice.
A specialized team of medical experts is tending to him, and Dr. Asim reported that President Zardari’s health is showing signs of improvement.
He clarified that the reports suggesting President Zardari would be transferred to Dubai for treatment are inaccurate. Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon also provided updates through a post on social media, confirming that the President’s condition is improving and further denying any speculation about a medical transfer to Dubai.
In a show of familial support, First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari flew from Larkana to Karachi to visit her father at the hospital.
