ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have praised the security forces for carrying out a successful operation against militants in Mir Ali, North Waziristan.
In separate statements, both leaders lauded the bravery and professionalism displayed by the security personnel in the fight against terrorism, describing their sacrifices as a matter of national pride.
President Zardari said counterterrorism operations would continue to safeguard peace and protect the lives and property of citizens.
He vowed that the government would thwart the designs of terrorist elements allegedly operating with foreign backing at all costs.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said security forces would continue their operations until the complete elimination of terrorism from the country.
He described the eradication of terrorism as the government’s foremost priority and said the entire nation stood united with the security forces in the fight against militants.
