ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed profound grief over the loss of lives in the tragic passenger bus accident on the Zhob–Sherani highway.
In separate messages, the two leaders offered condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the eternal peace of those who died. They also directed the relevant authorities to ensure that the injured receive the best possible medical care.
Earlier in the day, a passenger bus travelling from Quetta to Peshawar plunged into a deep ravine in the Danasar area of Sherani district, claiming the lives of 40 people.
According to police, six passengers sustained injuries in the crash and were shifted to hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
